Tussey Mountain

Yesterday was the first truly nice day of the year in terms of weather. The sun was shining, the wind was blowing, it was a perfect day for a hike. If you're a fan of skiing, mini golf, go karts, skateboarding, or just being outside, chances are you've heard of Tussey Mountain. Along with outdoor recreational activities, Tussey Mountain is home to lots of trails/paths for hiking as well as mountain biking.
Located in parts of the Rothrock State Forest, there are and ample amount of trials and paths to explore. This hike was mainly along the Longberger Path as well as the Three Bridges Trail. The Longberger Path is a primarily rocky path. However the path is very smooth and well laid out with a clear direction of where to go and always keep you on the path. The trail itself is about a 2.5 mile hike from point to point that comes across many other trails along the way. One of these trails is the Three Bridges Trail.
The Three Bridges Trail  is a trail located off of the Longberger Path. There are in fact three bridges, they may not be very large, but they're still bridges. This trail is more a smooth dirt path, while the trail may be slightly narrow at times, it's still very well laid out so you always stay on path and don't get lost. This trail is a fairly small trail. As the trail is only about 0.5 miles long, it's still a cute little trail off of the Longberger Trail and leads you to Bear Meadows Road, which leads you back down the road and towards Tussey Mountain.
So when you think of Tussey Mountain you may only think about wingfest or skiing. However Tussey has plenty of trails for hikers and mountain bikers. So if you're interested in going for a nice quiet hike or are interested in mountain biking, definitely check out Tussey Mountain or the Rothrock State Forest. Trails at Tussey Mountain are very beautiful and you never know who or what you'll see along the way. So grab your hiking shoes, your bike, or even your furry four legged companion and enjoy a beautiful day out in nature on the trails!
